  • 60 ml Whiskey bourbon or rye recommended

Citrus & Sweetener

Egg & Garnish

  • 1 Egg fresh, pasteurized egg white preferred for safety, white
  • 1 Lemon twist for garnish
  • 150 ml Water for simple syrup
  • 20 gm Sugar for simple syrup, granulated sugar
  • Ice cubes Ice

Make Simple Syrup

  • Combine equal parts sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat gently, stirring until sugar dissolves completely. Let cool completely.

Prepare the Whiskey Sour

  • Add whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white to a cocktail shaker.

Dry Shake

  • Without ice, shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to emulsify the egg white and create a frothy texture.

Add Ice and Shake Again

  • Add ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously again for another 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.

Strain and Serve

  • Double strain the mixture into an Old Fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.
