Instant Pot Safety Tips

Read this article till the end if you want to know all the instant pot safety tips that keep you safe. Despite their usefulness, Instant Pots can be real nasty if something goes wrong. There have been numerous instances where an instant pot exploded, causing some serious damages. Often, the victims went on to file what is known as an Instant Pot Lawsuit against the manufacturers.
Not to worry though. Instant Pots aren’t dangerous at all if you take precaustionary steps and from time to time, ensure that all parts of the appliance are working properly. So without further ado, let’s dive right in!
Tip #1: The Lid
Before turning it on, always make sure that the appliance’s lid is properly sealed.
Tip #2: Keep Your Distance
Don’t unnecessairly get too close to the valve of the pot. In case something goes writing, your proximity to the valve will determine how much damage it causes.
Tip #3: The Ingredients
This one’s important. Certain ingredients, such as noodles and rhubarb etc create foam when cooked. This foam can clog the valve, leading to building too much pressure inside the pot. Needless to say, it can result in a severe outburst. So be extra careful when cooking with these ingredients.
Tip #4: Don’t Fill it Up!
When cooking, never fill up the pot to maximum capacity. In fact, I’d recommend only utilizing 60% to 70% of the capacity at a time.
Tip #5: Check the parts from time to time
Every now and then, make sure to check the parts, especially the pressure releasing mechanism. If the pressure doesn’t get properly released, it can lead to an exploding instant pot.
Tip #6: Read the Manual Carefully:
The most comprehensive resource of all the DOs and DONTs, is of course the Instant Pot manual itself. Reading it and following it can save you any potential trouble and ensure that you safely keep benefiting from your instant pot.
These tips will help you keep safe and avoid any unpleasant experiences. Again, Instant Pots are real nice and handy kitchen appliances but it doesn’t mean there’s 0 risk in using them. Just follow the above tips and you’ll be all good.
