  • Pressure cook the squid for 10 minutes with salt, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 3/4 tbsp ginger garlic paste. Save the cooked water that is leftover for later use.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Saute the onions until they turn pink and soft.
  • Now add in the remaining ginger garlic paste and curry leaves and saute till the raw smell goes off.
  • Add the tomatoes and saute well.
  • Next, add turmeric powder, red chili powder and coriander powder. Mix well.
  • Now add little water in which the squid was cooked.
  • Once it starts to boil, add in the squid too.
  • Check salt and add accordingly.
  • Add in the crushed fennel seeds and chopped coriander leaves and stir.Cook closed for 5 minutes for the flavors to infuse.
  • Have this scrumptious squid roast with appam, roti or even rice.
