Easy and quick fish fry recipe which serves as a great starter. Mackerel Fish is marinated in basic masala and spices for couple of hours and deep fried. Crisp from outside and soft inside.
Mackerel Fish - 4 big whole Fish
Ginger - 1 inch
Garlic - 6 cloves
Peppercorns - 1 tsp cracked or use pepper powder
Coriander powder - Â½ tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
Oil for deep frying
Take the fish and make slashes all over. Keep aside In a mixing bowl.
Ground the ginger and garlic and extract the juice of it. We will be using only the juice.
In a small bowl take all the ingredients except oil in a mixing bowl and mix well by adding few drops of water.
Rub this mixture all over the fish and in the slashes too. Keep this to marinate for atleast 30 mins. I kept for 2 hours.
Heat oil in a frying pan. Add the fishes in batches and deep fry then on all sides till golden and crisp from outside.
Drain and serve with onions, slit Green chillies and lemon slices.
