Walnuts! The first thing that comes to the mind is itâ€™s good for Brain. Walnuts are an excellent source Omega-3 Fatty Acids and they are rich in Antioxidants. Walnut & Dates Halwa is very rich in Nutrients â€“ as it contains other ingredients as well along with Indian Ghee.
Chopped seedless Dates / Khajur 1 cup
Chopped Walnuts / Akhrot 1 cup
Milk 1 cup
Khoya / Mawa Â¼ cup
Sugar Â¼ cup
Clarified Butter / Desi Ghee 2 tsp
Cardamom Powder / Elaichi Powder Â¼ tsp
Saffron / Kesar for Garnishing as required
In a cooking pan, add 2 tsp of Ghee and allow it to heat.
To that add 1 cup of finely chopped seedless Dates (Khajur) and stir for 2 to 3 Mins.
Then add 1 cup of Milk and stir continuously until the Milk is reduced down (approx. 5 Mins).
Furthermore, add 1 cup of roughly chopped Walnuts and give a nice mix for 2 Mins.
Then add ¼ cup of Mawa (Khoya), ¼ cup of Sugar, ¼ tsp of Cardamom (Elaichi) powder and mix well.
Cover the lid and cook on low flame for 2 Min.
Dates & Walnut Halwa is ready to serve hot and garnish with Kesar.
