Fuel Helps You Decide Whether To Rent Or Own
Once you have decided to make the switch to propane, the next step becomes making plans for that switch. You are going to have to decide which service to use, how often you will want it to be fueled, where the tank is going to go, etc. Well, Bottini Fuel is here to help you to decide on one of the things you will have to decide on – renting or owning your tank. It may sound like an easy choice, but it gets a little more complicated than that. Lucky for you, we have the knowledge of 60 years behind us. That knowledge will now be passed on to you. We hope that it will make the decision that you have to take an easier one.
Rent
The first of your two choices are to rent the tank. If you look at the prices of storage tanks, it may seem that this is the clear winner. However, if you are a first-time buyer of your property you will have to also think about the future. Is this the house that you are going to live in for the rest of your life? If not, you might want to think about what happens when it is time to sell. If you are renting your unit, you must make sure that a prospective buyer would be willing to take on that rental as part of their purchase. It can also be a good thing because if the future buyer does not want it, you can simply have your provider remove it from the property. On the other hand, if they do want this feature, you might be able to increase the purchase price and recover some of your spent money.
Own
Your second option is to own your tank outright. This can be quite a large bill. Taking a look at the average storage tank, you will be looking at investing between $1,000 and $2,000 depending on if you want to install it aboveground or underground. That on top of the fee to have the location primed for the installation and the installation of all the parts into your house to actually utilize the propane. Those little fees seem to add up over time and you will need to consider them. Now, if you are going to sell your home, you could be actually investing in the property and that will add value to the selling price. With more and more people looking for green alternatives to heating their home, this can actually be an advantage when it comes time to sell. Conversely, this can be a detractor if the person is not looking to use propane to heat their home or use in their appliances. Sometimes it comes down to the appliances since a lot of people tend to have electric stoves. They would have to make an additional purchase of a new stove, and they might not be able to afford that.
