Did you know that this Indian Plum and Cucumber diet drink can actually helps to keep the pounds at bay?. The Indian Plum (Jamun) controls blood sugar levels, hence helps in regulating insulin release, beneficial for weight loss, diabetes and PCOD. It also helps in reducing dehydration, gives relief in diarrhea and vomiting and due to it astringent nature it also helps in controlling heavy bleeding during menstruation. Cucumbers are a great vegetable to snack on if you are feeling hungry between meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 litre plain drinking water
  • 1 large sized cucumber cut into slices with its skin intact
  • 1/2 cup java plums jamun

Instructions
 

  • In a large glass jar add in plain water, unpeeled and sliced cucumber and the java plums.
  • Stir in all the additions into the water so that they don't settle at the bottom of the jar.
  • Cover the jar with a lid and allow this water to be infused with all the goodness of the cucumber and java plums. Allow to steep at least for 6 hours, but overnight is preferred. You may refrigerate the jar of water as well.
  • The next morning pour out the water into a drinking glass, and drink instead of plain water or high calorie sodas.
  • You can use the same ingredients by changing the water two times, after which, discard all the ingredients and make a fresh batch.
