Wheat Milk Halwa

Wheat milk Halwa with saffron, cardamom & nuts! Traditional sweet in a south Indian household. I'd call it labour of love squares! It does take a lot of effort and I am still amazed how my grand mum/ mum effortlessly pulled it off every week! This used to be our family favourite and will remain my favourite!

  • In the middle add in the colors, nuts, saffron etc.. And stir!
  • Once the mixture starts letting out the ghee, its done. It should look & feel like a non sticky jelly!
  • On a plate, line with some ghee and spread this into 1.5 inches thick and sprinkle nuts on top and allow it to cool!
  • Slice & enjoy!!!

  • Take care and be watchful of the dingle thread sugar consistency!
  • That’s the key & keep a hand towel next to you, you will sweat a lot.
