Bangalees are incomplete without poppy seeds. Poppy seeds are a better source of minerals, calcium, iron and zinc. It gives crunchy and cryspy effect. Good for pain relief remove insomnia, wrinkles and keep skin healthy.
Aloo posto (poppy potato) is a common recipe of every Bangalees household.

Ingredients
- 200 gm potato
- 25 gm poppy seeds paste
- 2 tbsp coconut paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Ginger paste
- 1 tbsp green chilli paste
- 1 tsp poppy seeds
- 1/2 tsp onion seeds
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- Salt
- Coriander and mint leaves

Instructions
- Heat a pan put mustard oil, after smoking add onion seeds and poppy seeds.
- Add potato cubes, turmeric powder, ginger paste and salt. Mix all together and sprinkle with little water. Close the lid until cooked.
- When potato become soft now add poppy seeds paste, coconut paste and green chilli paste. Mix all together again close the lid for a minute.
- Open the lid sprinkle with fresh coriander leaves.

This recipe goes with steam rice.
