Moong Dal Halwa Canapes

Moong dal (split skinned gram pulse ) halwa is one of the rich traditional Indian sweet. Mainly prepared in festivals and wedding. But people like to eat it anytime.

Ingredients
- 1 cup soaked and coarsely ground moong dal
- 1 +1/2 cup ghee
- 1 1/2 cup chopped milk
- 3/4 cup khoya/mawa
- 1 cup Sugar
- Few strands of saffron
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1-2 tbsp chopped nuts almond, walnuts, watermelon seeds
- 4 bread slices cut it in circle shape
- 3 tbsp sweetened condensed milk

Instructions
- Soak moong dal in water for 3-4 hours and grind it coarsely without using any water.
- In a pan heat 1 cup ghee and let it melt.
- Add moong dal and cook it on medium flame until it becomes golden brown in color and starts losing the ghee from corners.
- Mean while heat the milk in other pan.
- Add hot milk in moong dal and mix it well.
- Cook it while stirring occasionally until milk evaporates.
- Add khoya and mix it well.
- Cook for a minute and add sugar, saffron, and cardamom powder.
- Mix it well and cook until sugar dissolves and ghee starts losing the corners.
- Turn of the heat and add dry fruits.
- Cut bread slices in ur choice of shape and fry it in remaining 1/2 cup ghee until it gives golden brown color.
- Dip it in condensed milk and put it in serving plate.
- Add moong dal.halwa on top of bread slices and garnish with dry fruits.
- Serve it hot or cold.
