Honey Touch Barley Payasam

Barley is good for blood pressure and blood sugar. It improves lipid profile and reduces cholesterol. In this payasam recipe I used honey for sweetness but those who are prohibited from sweet they should avoid the sweetness. For normal sweet-tooth honey is better than sugar.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp barley
  • 50 gm milk
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon rice flour
  • 2 tbsp dry fruits
  • 2 teaspoon desiccated coconut
  • 2 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon green cardamom powder

Instructions
 

  • Soak the barley for half an hour. Boil the milk.

  • Add the soaked barley and cook until soft.

  • Then add dry fruits, coconut and cardamom powder. Cook another 5 minutes. Then switch off the flame add honey and serve the honey touch barley payasam.
