  • How to make Buttermilk pancake from scratch - In a medium bowl, add all-purpose flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Mix it well by stirring it few times using a wooden spoon.
  • Microwave the butter stick for 1 minute to get the 2 tablespoons of melted butter. In another medium bowl, break the egg, pour melted butter, freshly homemade buttermilk (check how to make buttermilk recipe in the notes section) and milk.
  • You can either use hand whisk or if you are using an electric whisk, keep the speed to medium and whisk till it blends.
  • Pour the wet ingredients mixture into the dry ingredient flour mixture and stir it for few times to get a lumpy medium thick consistency batter. Do not over stir otherwise the final pancake will be dense and hard. Don't worry about the lumps.

  • Heat the griddle, if you sprinkle few drops of water on the hot griddle and they disappear, then the griddle is ready.
  • Prepare the griddle by brushing the vegetable oil or butter and scoop the batter with 1/4 cup of measurement and pour it on the griddle. Once the edge becomes golden brown flip it to the other side.

  • Repeat it with rest of the batter. Do not press the pancakes with the ladle. Just pick it from the griddle and keep it on the serving plate.
