Chocolate Brownies With Coconut Flower Nectar
Last weekend, I had planned to make chocolate brownies. This would be my first attempt to make these baked treats. Initially, I wanted to use brown sugar to make these goodies. But when I received my parcel of coconut sugar, Lyva – organic coconut sugar, I was very excited to try this ingredient immediately. So I used this ‘nectar’ to sweeten my chocolate brownies. Thanks to #BellyNirvana project of #Plattershare in association with GoIndiaOrganic, I thought of using this ‘special sugar’ in my recipe. #Plattershare is wonderful online plaform for food bloggers like me to contribute our recipes and food stories. Not to forget the exciting product reviews which I can conduct via their #BellyNirvana project.
As per the contents on the label of Lyva coconut sugar, this sugar is Nature’s Perfect Sweetner – Unrefined, vegan, organic, pure coconut flower nectar.
Unlike regular sugar, coconut sugar is low on the glycemic index, packed with nutrients – potassium, calcium, magnesium and has 16 vital amino acids, making it a healthy indulge you can feel good about. And because its low glycemic nature, there is no ‘sugar’ crash’ like with other sweetners. It is delicious, nutritious and easy to use replacement to cane sugar.
So I went ahead and baked the brownies. These turned out to be soft and yummy. The addition of coconut sugar, rendered a unique sweetness to these treats, with the lingering flavor of coconut. I will share the recipe for these brownies, shortly.
Priced at Rs. 120 for 100 gms of Organic Granulated coconut flower blossom nectar, this is indeed a good and healthy deal!
I am very much statisfied with this product and would use it in my daily cooking. Once again I am grateful to #Plattershare for introducing me to this product. If not for them, I would never know that such nature’s healthy edible nectar existed in this world!
