Great Ambiance With Poor Food!

I happened to visit What the F On the event of Towntrendz.com community Meetup for their Sunday brunch. It was meet up with food lovers in Bangalore and it turned out to be a very bad experience with both beverages and food. What the F? is located in one of the oldest avenue (St. Marks Road) in Bangalore and the restaurant is on top most floor of Manandi Plaza which is oldest though. Well, we grasped on time and it was a great meet up to foodies in town.

An interior of the restaurant is quite decent with copious dining sections. There was a dedicated mezzanine floor for our Meetup with bar counter, which was a nice concept for small Meetups. There will not be another set of crowd if we have a dedicated one.

After relaxing on low sofas, no one at the restaurant concerned to take order or serve starters for us. We were forcibly asked them to get the food initially, but later on they started serving fast, maybe they realized their mistake. I was not happy with starters except few like Potato Triangles, Baby corn chilly and Quesadilla. Potato Triangles were insipid, but the crispiness made me too overwhelmed. Quesadillas were virtuous enough with Corn Cheese and Spinach mishmash. I tried the veg burger too, which is kind of ok with slight stuffing.

Cocktails are part of Sunday brunch, which are worthless except Mojito. They don’t have a specific name for cocktails in the brunch, they will prepare based on your choice of cocktails. They call those cocktails as Bartenders special; I am wondering how everything can be a Bartender’s special. I did not like any of the drinks; they have good ones like Spicy lips in Al-a-carte realized after tasting post Brunch.

To give a Desi twist, they served “Bhel Puri” which was another chat where I was impressed with the taste of it.

In Maincourse, they had Schezwan fried rice with Chinese chilly gravy and pre prepared Red Sauce, pasta, which were tasteless and I left as it is on my plate. I couldn’t control myself, so I and a couple of friends ordered Subz Biryani in the evening, which was out of Brunch, which served with Indian Fryums and raitha. Biryani served in Mud container and tastes great. It was not an authentic one, but I would say best.

Experience at What the F’s brunch is not so impressive and probably I would try out their A-la-carte once again!
