Mochaa means banana flowers. It has maximum iron. After growing banana the flowers remain. Those who know the taste of mochaa they cut the flowers and cook. There are so many recipes with mochas. This is one of the same from Bangladeshi. Banana flowers cutting and chopping is a great art.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 gms chopped mochas
  • 250 gms potatoes fried
  • 1 cup onion paste
  • 2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 4 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 2 cup tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 4 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoon coconut paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 3-4 bay leaves
  • 2-4 whole red chilli
  • 4-6 clove
  • 2-3 black cardamom
  • 2 cinnamon stick
  • 4 -5 green chilli slits
  • Salt
  • Oil as required
  • 2 tablespoon ghee

Instructions
 

  • Chopped banana flowers and boil with little salt. Then strain water and keep aside.

  • Cut potatoes in a cubical sizes and fry. Then keep aside.

  • Take a deep frying pan add oil. Heat then add bay leaves, whole red chilli, whole cinnamon stick, cloves, black cardamom.

  • Add onion paste, ginger garlic paste, when become brown then add tomato paste, salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, coconut paste, slits green chilli. Mix well. Add boiled banana flowers. Cover with lid.

  • Cook and fry water will dehydrate. Add fried potatoes, garam masala and ghee. Ready to serve with steam rice/ Roti/ paratha.

Notes

Banana flowers cutting and chopping is very hard and difficult. That’s why people avoid to cook. But after cook It is very tasteful.
