Lobongo Lotika (Latika) is an authentic Bengali sweet. It looks just like an envelope which is sealed using a clove (Lobongo/Laung). Hence, it is named as Lobongo Lotika. Outer portion(envelope) is prepared with all purpose flour (maida) whereas stuffing is made with khova (mawa).

Instructions
- Take 1 cup sugar and water in a pan and boil to make sugar syrup.
- When the syrup becomes sticky and two-string consistency, switch off the gas and allow it to cool.
- Now take a bowl and mix mawa (khoya), sugar (1/3 cup) and vanilla essence all together
- Mash them and mix well. Keep it aside.
- Now make a dough using all purpose flour, food colour, ghee and water as required.
- Make small equal size ball from the dough.
- Take each dough and make a round shape using a rolling pin.
- Keep a spoonful of stuffing inside and fold it like semi-circle. Seal the edges properly.
- Now fold it one more time so that it looks like log.
- Next fold the log shape such a way that both ends overlap on each other so that it looks like an envelope. Finally seal the overlapped edges using cloves.
- Follow the above steps for remaining dough.
- Now heat oil and deep fry them over medium flame.
- Dip the fried dumplings into sugar syrup for 15 to 20 minutes and later serve.
