Mysore Pak is one of the famous traditional sweets of South India. It is prepared during Diwali and for the occasion of Narasimha Jayanti and offered to Lord Narasimha.
It is made with Chickpea flour (besan), sugar and ghee.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Chickpea flour Besan
  • 1 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 cup Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Oil

  • Take a square cake tin and grease it well with ghee. Keep it aside.

  • Sieve Chickpea flour/Besan twice, make sure there are no lumps left.

  • Now in a pan heat ghee and oil together on a medium flame. Heat it until it becomes hot and then let it heat on a low flame.

  • Put another pan on a gas stove, pour water into it. Add sugar to prepare sugar syrup. Continue to stir until you get a single thread consistency.

  • Now, add 1/3 part of chickpea flour/besan to the sugar syrup the flame should be medium, keep stirring till the flour is combined with the syrup.

  • Add another 1/3 part of the flour and repeat the process till all the flour is combined well.
  • Now add a ladle full of ghee and oil mixture into the besan sugar mixture and stir continuously until you get a smooth consistency.

  • Repeat the process of ghee oil mixture and stir it till the mixture leaves the side of a pan and become frothy and porous.

  • Turn off the gas stove and immediately transfer the mixture to the greased cake tin and flatten it lightly.

  • Once completely cool, carefully cut Mysore pak in the desired shape.
