Salan with chillies
We can make salan with some other like tomato, capsicum, chilli etc. I removed the seeds to avoid the hot. I made with my home grown chilli. This is easy to cook and it goes with chicken biryani or as you like.
Roast ground nuts, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, coconut, ginger and garlic. Make a paste then keep aside.
Remove seeds of chillies then shallow fry and keep aside.
Take a pan heat oil add cumin seeds, hing and curry leaves. Add chopped onion stir fry until translucent. Add the mixed paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder and cumin powder.
Cook for a few minutes add tamarind water, jaggery and salt. Cook with adding more water.
Add garam masala and fried chilli and cook for a minute. Now ready to serve with steamed rice, chapati, paratha, biryani etc.
