Salan with chillies
We can make salan with some other like tomato, capsicum, chilli etc. I removed the seeds to avoid the hot. I made with my home grown chilli. This is easy to cook and it goes with chicken biryani or as you like.

Ingredients
- Long sizes green and red chilli
- 1 tbsp ground nuts
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1 tbsp white sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp coconut paste
- 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- 1 medium size chopped onion
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 teaspoon jaggery powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Curry leaves
- Pinch of hing
- Salt

Instructions
- Roast ground nuts, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, coconut, ginger and garlic. Make a paste then keep aside.
- Remove seeds of chillies then shallow fry and keep aside.
- Take a pan heat oil add cumin seeds, hing and curry leaves. Add chopped onion stir fry until translucent. Add the mixed paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder and cumin powder.
- Cook for a few minutes add tamarind water, jaggery and salt. Cook with adding more water.
- Add garam masala and fried chilli and cook for a minute. Now ready to serve with steamed rice, chapati, paratha, biryani etc.
