Methi Muthiya

Methi muthiya is a traditional Gujarati snack made using fenugreek leaves. It can also be made using cabbage or bottle gourd instead of methi leaves. Methi muthiya tastes best with coriander mint chutney with a hot cup of tea.

Ingredients

Coarsely ground gram flour - 1 cup
Garlic pods - 2 crushed
Green chillies -1 cut finely
Fenugreek leaves
methi leaves - a small bunch
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
OIl - 2 tsp
Salt
Water as required
To temper:
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Oil - 4 tsp
Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
Chopped coriander to garnish
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients except listed under To temper and make a moist dough.
Pressure cook it for about 10 minutes. Cool and keep aside.
Heat oil in a kadai and add the mustard seeds and sesame seeds. Add the dough by breaking it into small pieces and saute well.
Fry on medium flame for 5-10 minutes. Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander.
