Coffee chain Starbucks’ signature espresso and milk are highlighted by flavor notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove to create this incredible beverage that’s a fall favorite. Enjoy it topped with whipped cream and real pumpkin pie spices.
Milk, toned - 1 cup
Coffee, espresso OR brewed - 1/2 cup
Pumpkin puree - 4 tablespoons (Refer notes)
Sweetner ( Choose from honey, sugar, jaggery, maple syrup or agave nectar) to taste
Pumpkin spice mix (mix of ginger, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg powders) - 1/2 teaspoon
Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Whipped cream, to garnish (I did not use this)
Heat milk in a pan.
Once warm, add in the pumpkin puree and mix in well.
Now add in the pumpkin pie spices and mix in well.
Now add in the prepared espresso or ground coffee.
Lastly add in the vanilla extract, mix everything well and pour into two glasses and top with require amount of sweetener of choice.
Top with whipped cream if desired. Enjoy hot!
You can either use canned pumpkin puree or make your own by pressure cooking pumpkin cubes for 3 whistles in just enough water to cover the surface of the cubes OR steaming a small pumpkin over a steamer.
Once soft, blend the pumpkin pieces in a blender or food processor.
