Naga Style Potato Chutney/ Spicy Potato Chutney

Spicy Potato Chutney is a Naga style chutney. This is a very popular and spicy chutney found in every Naga household. A very easy and simple recipe with less than 5 main ingredients. It is prepared using a very hot chilly Known as Raja Mircha/ Naga king chilly. It is known as the world's hottest chilly. A great condiment .

  • 3 large Potato
  • 2 nos Raja Mircha/ Naga king chilly
  • 2 large Tomato
  • Salt
  • Water as required
  • Chopped onions to serve with the chutney optional


  • Peel the potatoes and roughly chop into big chunks.
  • In a pan add the potatoes, tomatoes, Raja Mircha ,water as required and season with salt.
  • Cook till the potatoes are cooked well and water is evaporated completely. You can pressure cook them for faster cooking.
  • Now in a mortar and pestle mashed all the ingredients finely till smooth.
  • Remove and serve them as condiment topped with chopped onion.
