Kulith pithale is horse gram flour curry. This is a Maharashtrian recipe, it's tasty and gets ready in a jiffy. According to Ayurveda horse gram is known to have properties which aids weight loss. Ingredients
- Horse gram flour 1/4 cup
- Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
- Curry leaves 1 spring
- Onion 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic 4-5 pods
- Tomato 1 medium, chopped
- Green chilies 2, chopped
- Asafoetida 1/4 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves chopped
- Lime juice 1 tablespoon (optional)
- Refined oil 1 tablespoon

Instructions
- In a pan add oil, to that mustard seeds. When the seeds splutters add onion and curry leaves.
- When onions turn translucent add garlic followed by tomatoes and green chilies.
- When the tomatoes turn mushy add Asafoetida, turmeric powder, salt.
- Mix horse gram flour in little water and add to the pan.
- Add 1 cup water and let it simmer till the horse gram is cooked and the curry thickens.
- Add chopped coriander leaves, lime juice and turn off the flame. Serve hot with rice or like a soup.
Notes
vegetablesof your choice can also be added to make it more nutritious.
