About this recipe

Janmashtami is our Indian festival. We always try to offer Lord Krishna various types of Prasad. This is one of those recipe. I hope Lord will be pleased.

Ingredients for Channa Dal Barfi (janmashtami)

  • 250 gms Channa dal soaked
  • 250 gms mawa
  • 200 gms condensed milk
  • 25 gms cashew nut paste
  • 25 gms almond paste
  • 200 gms ghee
  • 1 tsp green cardamom powder
  • 10-15 whole cashew nut to garnish

How to cook Channa Dal Barfi (janmashtami)

  1. Make a paste of soaked salt. Take a frying pan heat add dal paste and ghee. Mix well and stir continuously.

  2. When slowly water will dehydrate add mawa. It will be a smooth dough. Now add condensed milk, cashew nut paste, almond paste and green cardamom powder.

  3. Now take a tray rub with ghee and set the barfi. After one hour cut into pieces and garnish with cashew nut.
  4. Ready to offer Lord sri Krishna.

Notes

No need to add sugar because condensed milk is already sweet.
