About this Recipe

Though I am not a person with sweet tooth but I love this yummilicious silky mouth watering dish. This is a traditional dish which is cooked in every Indian house:) I am making this in my style adding besan in it...The aroma of besan while roasting it in desi ghee is just amazing & I am sure you just cant wait to dip your spoon in it for that heavenly taste:)

Ingredients & Quantity
  • 1 cup Semolina (suji)
  • 1/4 cup of Besan
  • 3/4 cup of desi ghee
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • approx 4 cup water
  • 1/2 tbs cardamom
  • 2 tbs almond flakes
How to cook?
  1. Dry roast suji in a wok till golden brown & keep it aside
  2. Now take ghee in another wok & add besan. Cook besan on low flame till golden brown. This process requires slow cooking.
  3. Now add roasted suji to this
  4. Mix well & add brown sugar
  5. Now add aprox 4 cups of water to it. Mix well & let the water dry.
  6. Put off the gas & add cardamom & mix well
  7. Garnish with almond flakes & serve hot . Your yummy besan-suji halwa is ready!
