There are many types of pulao state wise region wise. I made the pulao in Bengali style which is very simple with less ingredients. This type of pulao we can offer as a bhog purpose. During Devi puja or any other festival we cook this recipe.
Wash and soak the rice for half an hour. Soak few saffron threads in water.
Boil the rice it should be half done, not full boil. Then strain the rice water.
Now take a pan add homemade ghee, bay leaves, whole garam masala, whole black pepper. Then add half done boiled rice. Stir for a few minutes.
Now add half glass warm water, raisin, soaked saffron and salt. Close the lid and cook until soft. Serve along with other recipe. I served with shallow fried vegetables and chutney.
