Lotus root has a wide range of health benefits. It is an aquatic plant. The lotus root is a long, woody object that attaches to the bottom of the water level and can stretch up 3 to 4 ft. It can be washed, sliced and then prepared.
It is also used in the natural or powered forming traditional herbal medicine. It has the texture of a potato and taste slightly like coconut before adding any extra flavour.
Cut the roots and thoroughly washed. Peel off the skin if needed. Sometimes there may be sticky mudy into the hole.
Boil with adding little salt. Strain the excess water and keep aside.
Make a batter with gram flour, rice flour, green chilli paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, ginger paste, cinnamon powder, salt and asafoetida. It should be a good consistent.
Heat oil in a pan. Dip the boiled roots into the batter then deep fry.
