Coriander Chutney Bread Pakoda

Bread pakoda is a ubiquitous evening snack on the streets of North India. Coriander chutney stuffed bread pakoda is a variation from the usual potato filling.

Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
Green chillies - 2
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Red chillies -2
Ginger - 1 small peice
Jaggery - the size of a small lemon
Salt
Bread slices - 4

flour - 2 cups
Rice flour - 1 tbsp
Red chill powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt
Soda bicarbonate - 1/2 tsp
Carom seeds - 1 tsp
Water to make batter
Oil to fry
Instructions
Heat 2 tsp oil in a shallow pan.
Add red chillies and urad dal and let it brown.
Now add green chillies, ginger and coriander leaves and cook for about 3-4 minutes.
Add salt and jaggery and mix well. Turn off the stove and let it cool.
Grind it to a fine chutney and set aside.
Spread the chutney on a bread slice and cover with another bread slice. Cut into 4 pieces.
Mix the flours. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, soda bicarbonate,salt and carom seeds. Add water and make a thick batter.
Dip the bread pieces in the batter and fry it till it turns brown. Remove from oil and let it cool. Serve with tomato sauce.
