Drain the water of soaked uras dal. Put it in the mixer jar and grind it into fine batter. If required add water.
Now put this batter into mixing bowl. Next add chopped onion, green chilli, chopped ginger, curry leaves, corriander leaves.
Add cumin seeds, crushed black pepper, hing, salt to taste and soda. Mix them properly so that they are combined to each other.
Now heat the oil for frying. Wet your palms with water. Take vada mix, flatten it and make a whole in the centre.
Drop it in the heating oil. Deep fry from both the sides of the vadas. Keep the flame on medium.
When they turn brown and crispy, remove the vadas from the oil o the tissue paper so that excess o oil is absorbed.
Serve the Medu Vada with coconut chutney or Sambhar.
