Bonda is an Indian snack with both sweet and savoury version and is called by different names in different region. This aloo bonda is a South Indian style recipe prepared with potato, flours and few spices. Aloo bonda is a famous South Indian street food and a popular snack across the region.
In a mixing bowl add the team flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, chilly powder, water, mix well and make a smooth thick lumps free batter.
In a frying pan add 2 tbsp oil. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds ad let it splutter.
Add chopped onion, green chilly, ginger, coriander leaves, curry leaves and data for 2 mins.
Add garam masala powder, coriander powder, asafodita, cumin powder and saute for a min.
Add the cooked mashed potato, season with salt and mix well. Stir well and incorporate them nicely and saute for 3-5 mins. Take off the heat and let the mixture cool down.
Take small portion of the mixture and roll them into balls with the help of your palms.
In a deep frying pan add oil for deep frying. When the oil is smoking hot, summer the flame .
Now dip the rolled balls into the batter and drop gently into the oil in batches.
Deep fry them in medium heat till golden and crisp. Remove and drain them in absorbent paper.
