Boil the baby potatoes and keep separate. Add oil on a preheated pan, add mustard seeds, chana dal and hing stir for a few seconds. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves then chopped onion and green chillies.
Stir a few seconds, add red chilli powder, boiled potatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder. Mix well then pour 1/2 glass of water and cover with lid.
After 5 minutes see it is thickening add salt, smoked chilli flakes and tamarind paste. Again cook for a minute and serve with whatever you like.
