Paneer tawa masala is a very tempting and delicious paneer recipe made with paneer as the main ingredient and cooked in spicy onion-tomato gravy. Roasted paneer pieces gives a good flavour to this dish. Paneer tawa masala is a very simple and easy to make paneer recipe and a perfect side dish for rotis and naans.
Take a mixing bowl. Add curd, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and crushed kasoori methi. Mix well. Add paneer pieces and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Add the paneer pieces and shallow fry for 2-3 minutes by tossing them well. Take care not to burn them. Remove them to a plate.
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in the same pan. Once oil becomes hot, add cumin seeds and carom seeds and allow it to splutter.
Then add chopped onions and saute till they become translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes on a low flame.
Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, coriander powder and mix well.
Add tomato puree and cook for 5-6 minutes on a medium flame or till oil separates.
Add the roasted paneer pieces to this onion-tomato mixture and mix well. Add half a cup of water and cook on a low to medium flame for another 5 minutes
Add garam masala powder and fresh cream and mix well. Add lime juice and combine together. Switch off the flame.
Remove paneer tawa masala to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve paneer tawa masala hot with rotis or naans or parathas.
