Drumstick tree is a miracle tree. Whole tree is a power packed with medicinal properties. We can benefit from leaves, flowers and sticks. Sometimes when sticks become hard we throw them. But in this Lockdown period there is shortage of vegetables so these should not be misused. I got some drumsticks I thought how to utilise them. Here is the recipe how I used the sticks. This is a bengali style recipe which is called dhokar dalna. This recipe is without onion and garlic.
Boil the Drumstick pieces then scoop the pulp. Make a paste with adding soaked soya nuggets, soaked moong dal, green chillies raw turmeric.
Paste should be a thick consistency, if you need you can add chickpea flour. I have not added because it is perfect for steaming.
I used banana leaf to steam if you don't have you can steam in regular base. Spread poppy seeds all over the leaf.then spread the semi solid batter. Then garnish with green peas and steam with cover for 10-15 minutes.
Heat 1 tbsp oil add bay leaves and onion seeds saute then add the masala paste and salt. Stir continuously for a few minutes. Masala will leave the pan then add a glass of water and cook. Add the fried dhoka and cook.

Finally add homemade garam masala and cook again a few seconds then ready to serve.
