Milk Mohan or Milk Flower or traditional name kharcha mithai is a sweet dish which is mostly made in Lucknow or Faizabad side area.
It is made by making small balls of maida and coating them with dry fruits and sugar and then adding them to the milk. I often make this recipe at home because everyone loved eating sweet dishes.
White flour is mixed with ilaichi and then fried in a pan like halwa, then small balls of it are made, which are then fried in ghee to make it taste better.
Boil milk in a heavy bottom pan. After boiling, add chopped nuts, milk made, cardamom powder and turn the heat to low. Keep stirring occasionally.
In a bowl add flour, cardamom powder and make a thin batter by adding water.
Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and add batter cook while string continuously till its reaches the consistency of a halwa.
Now make small balls from this mixture, heat the ghee in another pan turn the heat to slow and fry the balls till they turn golden. I
Now add the fried balls in milk and cook for 5 to 8 minutes more.
Switch off the gas and garnish with chopped nuts. Serve chilled.
