Khatta Meetha Dhokla is one of the Indian regional recipes which is enjoyed during breakfast or as a snack. Famous as Gujarati Dhokla it is a guilt-free snack as it's steamed and people on diet can also enjoy it. It is an easy Tiffin recipe for kids and adults as its light. Enjoy with the coriander chutney, this combination is a great idea for your kitty party recipes and get-together.
In a mixing bowl add flour, turmeric powder, oil, a pinch of sugar, salt, curd and water as per quantity of ingredients given above.
Give a quick whisk and keep for 20 min. Now get the Dhokla steamer ready or any vessel where your Dhokhla mold/tin can be fit.
Pour water in the vessel in such a way that dhokla mold/tin should be placed above it. Add baking soda into the batter. Whisk for few seconds and pour into the baking mold. Close the lid for 20 min. Please mark the time to get perfect spongy Dhokla.
After 20 minutes, Do the tooth-pick test and check with tooth-pick or knife. If it is clear then dhokla is ready. Take out from the vessel and let it cool, it will leave the mold. Turn it over.
For tempering
Take a frying pan, heat 1 tbsp oil. Once heated let mustard seeds splutter, drop few curry leaves, Split green chili, and a pinch of asafetida, Add 1/2 cup water and a teaspoon of sugar. Close the lid and switch off the flame.
Pour the tempered water on the dhokla and garnish with Coriander leaves.

Notes
Remember to put baking soda just before you put the batter in the mold.
