or ghee
Salt
to taste

teaspoon
cardamom powder
water
as required to knead the dough

teaspoon
kalonji
black sesame seeds
oil
for frying
Instructions
Take flour in a mixing bowl
Add ghee, salt, carom seeds and mix well
Add water little by little and make a stiff dough
Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes
Now divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portions into a smooth ball
Roll each ball into a little thick disc
Take a cookie cutter and cut it into circles
Now make 8 cut impressions
For petal shape gather and twist the portion at tha edge
Apply water in the center and sprinkle kalonji and press it
Make all the mathris in the same way
Prick the mathris with a toothpick
Heat oil in a pan
When it becomes hot, lower the flame to medium
Gently slide in the mathris and fry both sides on medium flame till crispy
Once done, drain and remove on absorbent paper
When it becomes cool store in an air tight container
