Pohe, Kande Pohe or Poha Recipe is one of the most popular Maharashtrian recipes served during breakfast or as a evening snack prepared with pressed beaten rice, lots of onion, boiled potatoes, tempered with mustard seeds, curry leaves and asafoetida, sprinkled with lemon juice and garnished with fresh chopped coriander leaves. Instructions
Rinse the pressed rice (Poha) in a colander ensuring that it is moist and not mashed/ mushy. Let the water drain out completely and then add salt and sugar and mix lightly. Set aside.
Add pohe and mix lightly and cover the lid and cook till poha is heated through. Add lemon juice and mix very lightly. Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves and freshly grated coconut which is optional.
You can garnish with crispy onion rings to enhance its flavor and appearance. Serve hot with cutting masala chai (tea)

1. A lot of people soak Poha but if you are using thin pohe (plural of Poha) then put it in colander/strainer under the running water so that it becomes moist but not mushy.2.
