Badi chura is a dish popular in every Odia household. It is actually not a dish, but a side dish. Badi or sun-dried lentils dumplings is made at home during summer/winter's. Badi chura is served best with pakhala (water rice).
Heat mustard oil in a pan. Shallow fry the badis till golden brown in color. Turn off the heat and allow to cool.
Afd grated coconut, garlic pods, green chilies and fried badis in a blender jar and pulse for 1-2 minutes to make a coarse mixture.Add salt to taste and mix it.
Serve this authentic Oriya Badi Chura/sundried lentil dumpling crumble immediately as a side dish with Pakhala/plain rice as side dish.
