Aloo Matar sabzi is a soul satisfying and comfort food for the Indians. This can be had with pooris and chapatis as breakfast/brunch or as a main course for lunch and dinner. It is a common and popular dish in every Indian household. Very easy and simple to prepare and taste delicious .
Made a paste of onion, garlic, ginger and tomato and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker add cumin seeds and let it crackle.
Add the paste and saute for 2-3 mins. Add a pinch of hing, chilly powder, turmeric powder and saute for a min.
Add the cashewnut paste along with the whole or broken cashewnuts. Season with salt, potatoes and fresh green peas, add some water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
Let the pressure release by itself add Garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves, cook for about 2 mins and take off the heat.
