Idli With Milagai Podi

Idli is a popular breakfast dish all over India but it is mainly a staple of South India. There are different varieties of idli and I present to you the simplest form. Idli served with milagai podi(gun powder) and sesame oil.

Ingredients

Raw rice - 4 cups
Udad dal - 1 cup
Beaten rice
poha - 1 fistful
Salt
Oil to grease the idli moulds
Instructions
Soak the rice, udad dal and poha together for 8 hours or overnight.
Grind all together in a mixer grinder till a soft fluffy consistency.
Add salt and let it ferment overnight.
Grease the idli plates and pour a ladle of batter in each.
Steam for 15-20 minutes and serve hot with gun powder and sesame oil.
