For Chicken Shawarma:
Chicken 500grms
Onion 1 sliced
Tomatoes 2 sliced
Yogurt 3 tbsp
Olive oil 2 tbsp
Spice Mix:Mix the below
Onion powder 1 tbsp
Garlic pwdr 1 tbsp
Cinnamon pwdr 1 tsp
Cardamom pwdr 1 tsp
White pepper pwdr 1 tbsp
Salt
FOR PITA BREAD:
Whole wheat flour 2 .5 cups
Oil 1 tbsp
Yeast 1 tbsp
Sugar 1 tbsp
Warm water as needed
Salt
GARLIC DIP:
Hung curd 1 cup
Garlic pods 3 to 4
Olive oil 1 tbsp
Instructions
Marinate the chicken with the onion, Tomatoes, yogurt, Olive oil and the spice mix and let it set for 30 min
Cook the chicken till the entire water dries and the chicken is cooked. set aside
FOR PITA BREAD
Take the yeast add the sugar and little warm water and
whisk
. Cover and let the yeast bloom
Take the flour, add the oil and the yeast mix,Start making the dough. make a smooth dough. Let it rest for 1 hrs
Divide the dough into small balls roll each dough and make a 1/4 inch thick chapati. let them rest for 10 mins
On Hot griddle place the pita , when you see bubbles, turn the pita bread
When you see the pita bread has all puffed up, it's ready. Remove from the griddle
For Garlic Sauce:Take the garlic pods and add olive oil, crush the garlic along with the oil. Add the hungry curd and
whisk
well. Our sauce is ready
Serve with lettuce, cucumbers and beets
Notes
-let the pita bread double in size.
-you can bake them in oven too at 180 D Celsius for 8 to 10 mins each
