Those stray hunger pangs between meals are the greatest hurdle in achieving one's weight-loss goals. Unlike carefully planned meals, we end up grabbing whatever is at hand when we feel like having a snack. Hence it helps to keep some healthy ingredients in the fridge that can be turned into a quick bite. Boiled chickpeas are one of the most versatile ingredients. Add a small jar of mango and pepper salsa to go with it, and you are good to go.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cup boiled chickpeas
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 green chili
  • 3 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 2 tap spice blend of your choice I used pav bhaji masala
  • Salt
  • For the salsa - 1/2 cup chopped ripe mango
  • 1/2 cup mixed Peppers
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • A pinch of orgeano
  • Salt
  • Fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Chop the onion and chili into small pieces. Transfer to a mixing bowl.
  • Add the boiled chickpeas, spice mix, cilantro and salt to the mixing bowl.
  • Mash everything together into a dough like mixture.
  • Divide it into 10 portions. Shape each portion into a disc.
  • Place a baking sheet on a baking tray. Lay the croquettes on it and bake for 20 mins at 200 C.
  • For the salsa, mix the chopped mango, peppers, oregano, chili flakes, herbs and salt in a bowl. Chill it in the fridge for 15 mins.
  • Serve the warm croquettes with the chilled salsa.
