An easy and tasty recipe that uses Left-over rice in an innovative way.

  • 1 cup rice leftover
  • Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 7-8 curry leaves fresh
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 3-4 cloves garlic minced.


  • Heat the oil in a kadai.
  • Fry the garlic lightly. Add the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • When they splutter, add the haldi and red chilli powder.
  • Add little salt as per preference. Add rice and toss well.
  • Serve hot with cool curd and roasted papad.


Tastes best only with left over rice and not fresh made one.
