Moth chaat is one of the most common breakfasts of North India. No one can say no to this healthy and yummy food. This protein packed food is perfect for a healthy breakfast as well. Customize it spicy or salted , the way you like it. Everyone knows its recipe but we have given it a tangy twist..with our hidden ingredient.. Go ahead..and try .. !!

Ingredients
  

  • 100 gms raw moth
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped tomato
  • 1/2 tbsp finely chopped cucumber
  • 1 tbsp of diced boiled potato
  • 1 teaspoon chopped corriander
  • 1 finely chopped green chilli
  • 1 tbsp fine sev
  • 1 teaspoon mango pickle masala for the twist optional

Instructions
 

  • Soak the moth in water for 2-3 hours. Then drain water and transfer it to a muslin cloth and keep it covered so that sprouts will grow. (This process could take 1 day.)
  • Pressure cook the moth with salt and turmeric powder and very little water till 1 whistle blows.

  • Transfer it to a bowl and add all the other ingredients and toss it well together.

  • In between comes our tangy twist. Add the mango pickle masala and mix again.

  • Your tangy spicy street food is ready to be enjoyed. Garnish it with finely chopped coriander and sev.

Notes

– Do not over cook moth for long otherwise it would all be mashy.
– In winters sprouts may take a little longer than one day to grow.
