About this Recipe

Thondakaya pachadi is an ivy gourd chutney. I learnt this recipe from chef Kamala. This is a healthy chutney.

Ingredients & Quantity
  • 100 gms ivy gourd
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 5 gms chana dal
  • 5 gms urad dal
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 dry red chilli
  • 2 tsp imli pulp
  • 2 tsp grated coconut
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pinch of turmeric powder
  • mint leaf to garnish
How to cook?
  1. In a pan heat oil.Add chana dal and urad dal and roast.
  2. Add green chilli and dry red chilli.
  3. Now add ivy gourd ( tinda) peeled washed and chopped to it.
  4. Let it cook and add salt and turmeric.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook. Remove from heat and cool.
  6. Grind to a fine paste with coconut and imli pulp.
  7. Garnish with mint leaf and serve.

Notes
You can add the tempering of mustard seeds and curry leaf.
