The Mushroom Melting Pot

This dish is a melting pot of flavors: A sauce that contains Sweetness from the pineapple, Tangy taste  from the lemon grass, earthiness and aroma from the spices combined with mushrooms which sucks in all these flavors resulting in a juicy mouth-watering delicacy.

  • 200 gms button mushrooms
  • Pineapple juice/squash – 3 tbsps
  • Lemon grass – 1-2 leaves
  • Green/Yellow/Red Capsicum julienne cut – 100 gms (Optional)
  • Black Peppercorns crushed – ½ tsp
  • Salt
  • Garam Masala – ½ tsp
  • Dhania Powder – ½ tsp
  • Cornflour – 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon stick – 1-2
  • Finely chopped garlic – 2 tsp
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • Dry Red chilli – 1
  • Water – 100 ml


  • Wash and clean the mushrooms nicely. Mix the chopped capsicum, garlic, pineapple juice/squash, crushed peppercorns, Garam Masala, Dhania (Coriander) Powder and leave aside to marinate for 30 mins in a covered bowl.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan – add the cinnamon stick and red chilli and  cook for about a minute.
  • Add the marinated mixture and cook in a medium flame for about 5-6 mins, stirring continuously.
  • Add water, cornflour and lemon grass and cook for another 3-4 mins.
  • Serve hot with white rice.
