About this Recipe

I am a person who does not like too spicy food. But this sweet chilli chutney took over me and I was thrilled to enjoy it to the core. Interestingly the chillies/jalapeños I used were a little more spicy… Believe me this fresh homemade sweet Chilli chutney is pure bliss and requires just two to three ingredients in making.!! Moreover I have not added any onion and garlic. Five to ten minutes from scratch and ready .. Enjoy spicy.. Tangy.. Sweety chutney !!!

Ingredients & Quantity
  • 60 gms red thick peppers/ 3 red chillies
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1tbsp chopped ginger (It is optional to add ginger can add garlic also ..I have not added)
How to cook?
  1. Chop the thick red chillies roughly and grind them along with seeds to get a paste. Do not add water.
  2. In a bowl mix together sugar, ginger, vinegar and chillies crushed.
  3. Heat it in a vessel and cook for 5 -10 minutes till it becomes thick.
  4. The aroma of vinegar while getting cooked is mesmerising.
  5. This chutney thickens a bit on cooling. Hence cook till semi thick.
  6. Fill in jars or bottle and enjoy sweet tangy spicy chutney..yum.:)
  7. Can be used in dishes like Honey chilli potato…or goes best with spring rolls etc.
