About this Recipe

Sukhe chatpate kaaley chane is one of all time favourite dish to be served with puri halwa. Kala chana is a good source of protein and can be served to our growing kids as evening snacks

Ingredients & Quantity
  • 2 Cup Kala Chana (Soaked in Water for 6 - 8 hours)
  • 1 Teaspoon jeera
  • Pinch of Hing (Asafoetida)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon haldi powder (turmeric)
  • Salt according to taste
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • Chilly Powder according to taste
  • 1 Teaspoon amchoor (dry mango powder)
  • 2 Tablespoon chopped coriander
  • 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
How to cook?
  1. Soak kala channa in water and keep aside for 6 to 8 hours. Add kala channa in pressure cooker along with 5 cups of water and a teaspoon of salt. Now pressure cook this for 25 to 30 minutes on low flame or till it is cooked properly. Once it is cooked
  2. In a pan, add cooking oil after a minute add jeera, pinch of hing, haldi powder, salt , chilly powder chopped green chiles and mix it well
  3. Now add boiled kala channa to this, cook it for 5 to 6 minutes
  4. Now add boiled kala channa to this, cook it for 5 to 6 minutes
  5. Serve it with puri and halwa
