Basmati rice- 1/3 cup
Finely chopped veggies- onion, carrot,cabbage, beans - 1cup
Grated Ginger n garlic- 1tbsp
Soya sauce- 2tsp
Sugar- 1/2 tsp
Salt, white pepper, red chilli powder - to taste
Ajinomoto- a pinch(optional)
Wash n soak basmati rice with little salt for 30min. Crumble panner add salt n red chilli powder to taste.
In a pan add oil when it is hot add Ginger n garlic- saute for few sec. Now add finely chopped onion followed by veggies n sugar. Fry for 3min add soya sauce, white pepper n salt n ajinomoto to taste. Allow it to cool.
Drain the rice. Add salt n pepper to taste.Now wet ur hands take small portion of panner flatten it keep the veggie mix. now take a small portion of panner n keep on the veggie roll like a ball. Now dip it in rice mixture
Prepare everything in the same manner. Ul get 5 medium balls. Heat water in steamer or idli pot grease the plate with oil n place all the balls. Steam cool it till the rice becomes soft. When it is completely cooked it vo bloom like flower.
- Soaking rice is very important or else it vl not get cooked as we r only steaming it
- Can add any vegetables
- Adding salt must be done carefully as v r gonna add salt in each process
