Basic Sponge Cake

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup Sugar powdered
- 100 gm butter
- 4 egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk or as required
Instructions
- Pre-Heat the Oven at 180° C temperature and also grease the cake mould with butter and keep it aside.
- Sieve together all purpose flour, baking powder and baking soda and keep aside.
- In a bowl break 4 eggs, add vanilla essence and beat the eggs on medium high speed until the mixture is thick and double in volume or form a ribbon like consistency.
- In another bowl beat butter and sugar together until soft and creamy.
- Add the sifted all purpose flour, baking powder and baking soda into the bowl containing the creamy butter sugar mixture.
- Now mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients using cut and fold method and form a smooth lump free batter.
- Add milk as required if the batter is thick.
- Pour the batter in a greased cake tin and bake it at 180°C for 30 minutes.
- Once the cake is done, insert a toothpick if it comes clean then the cake has baked perfectly.
- Allow the cake to cool down completely, cut into pieces and enjoy!
